New Ground Day Camp – Summer 2008
Would your congregation like to reach out to children from your church and community with an experience of fun, discovery and growth in a faith-filled day camp environment? Why not host a New Ground Day Camp this summer? Through a unique partnership between your congregation, Koinonia NYC, and Lutheran Counseling Center, your site can be a safe place for children to explore, question, develop, learn, and have FUN! Koinonia camp counselors and a Lutheran Counseling Center “Advisor-in-Residence” work in partnership with your local leadership. The 2008 curriculum “Just For Life!” will assist campers in exploring how God speaks to them in their daily lives. With LDRNY funding, New Ground Day Camp is offered at an affordable rate for a week of professional camp leadership. Take A Planned Faith Walk At Ground Zero While in New York City consider taking a Faith Walk at Ground Zero. Koinonia, with the LDRNY Comfort and Renew Center overlooking Ground Zero, schedules Faith Walks upon request for visiting groups. Faith Walks at Ground Zero last between 2 to 3 hours and are inspirational and educational as you learn how the church responded to events of September 11, 2001. Visiting surrounding landmarks at the site and hearing the stories encourages healing and hope in the face of disaster. The over 2,500 people who have already participated in a Faith Walk at Ground Zero have been from local NYC area congregations, from across the USA, as well as international visitors. For more information and to register call Koinonia at 1-800-980-2267 or email Register@KoinoniaNY.org.
