Available Positions

Support Staff


Position: Support Staff - Ensure the Koinonia mission is accomplished by providing leadership in the areas of hospitality, kitchen, programming, facilities, and maintenance. Year-round (live onsite) position with a two-year contract. Qualifications

  • Understanding of the philosophy and mission of Koinonia and its programs.
  • Strong commitment to the care and appreciation of God's creation and the desire to communicate and practice that with other staff and guests.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have interest in living and working in a "servant oriented" Christian community.
  • Must be flexible and willing to help in all areas of Koinonia.
  • Has the ability to perform duties around the rough and hilly terrain that is part of the camping program.
  • Previous experience in hospitality and program leadership in an outdoor ministry or other related ministry setting.
  • Has the ability to communicate clearly, both written and oral.
  • Exhibits a sense and understanding of Outdoor Ministry.
  • Ability to think critically, deals well with an ever changing, adaptive environment.
  • Has the ability to perform duties around the rough and hilly terrain that is part of the camping program.
Community Living
  • Participation in a shared community living situation with other staff.
  • Participation in community worship, prayer and devotions, work projects, and social events.
  • Staff will share responsibilities for dishes, kitchen help, camp cleaning, office assistance, maintenance assistance, and other tasks necessary to provide good service and hospitality to the guests as required by the Executive Director.
  • Staff will eat with guests when on site.

Facilities & Maintenance


Position: Facilities & Maintenance - Responsible for maintaining the facilities and grounds of the 1200- acre site of Koinonia to ensure that all guests, facilities and grounds are safe. Year-round position Qualifications

  • Understanding of the philosophy and mission of Koinonia and its programs.
  • Strong commitment to the care and appreciation of God's creation and the desire to communicate and practice that with other staff and guests.
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have interest in working in a "servant oriented" Christian community.
  • Has the ability to perform duties around the rough and hilly terrain that is part of the camping program.
  • Has the ability to communicate clearly, both written and oral. Build & Maintain spreadsheets as needed
  • Ability to think critically, deals well with an ever changing, adaptive environment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work in partnership with the Directors and staff to provide support in Maintenance & Facilities.
  • Work with Directors to develop a 5 Year Maintenance Plan
  • Keep an inventory of all equipment & materials
  • Maintain database of competitive contractors and suppliers
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
  • Painting as needed
  • Repair equipment or appliances
  • Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs
  • Plan and Organize Volunteer Work Weekends

  • Drivers license with excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and keep up with the highly physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and guests.
  • Required- National Criminal Background check, valid driver’s license, clear driving record.
  • At least 21 Years of Age
  • Fully support the guiding principles, values and mission of Koinonia.
  • Excellent working knowledge of basic repairs and maintenance as well as a willingness to learn new skills.
